Kabat-Zinn graduated from
Haverford College in 1964 and went on to obtain his Ph.D. in 1971 from MIT in molecular biology.
Kabat-Zinn was introduced to meditation by
Philip Kapleau and was inspired enough by the introduction to study meditation for himself.
In 1979, Kabat-Zinn founded the Stress Reduction Clinic at the
University of Massachusetts Medical School. Since then, his concept of Mindful Yoga has spread all over the world.
