Richard Nixon Short Biography

Born on 9 January 1913 in Yorba Linda, California, United States, Richard Milhous Nixon was the 37th President of the United States of America.

Nixon graduated from Whittier College in 1934. He went on to earn his law degree at Duke University Law School in 1937.

In 1942, Nixon joined the navy. Nixon returned from the navy in 1946, in the same year, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Nixon won the United States vice-presidential election in 1953 and served as vice president until 1961. 

Eight years later, on January 20, 1969, Richard Nixon was inaugurated into the presidency. In 1970, Nixon founded the Environmental Protection Agency, an agency whose goals are to protect environmental and human health.

In 1973, a year before his presidency ended, Nixon ended the draft and employed an all-volunteer army instead.

After he resigned from the presidency, Nixon went on to publish several books such as Beyond Peace which hit bookshelves in 1994.
